Governing Body Membership 2025-26 and Attendance 2024-25

Members of Lincoln Local Governing Body come from a wide variety of different backgrounds. Below you will find a short biography of each of our Governors. Please click on the link at the bottom of the page for details of appointments and attendance.

Colin Parkin - Chair
Colin is married to Julie and has two children and four grandchildren who are all at school. Most of his working life has been in the financial services sector. He works as an international speaker, business coach and mentor all over the world.  Last year he took a CEO position of a charity foundation which supports 16 to 25 year-olds in education. He has many hobbies and interests which include golf, ten pin bowling and cricket.

Lynda Turton

Lynda has three children plus three grandchildren and is now retired. She was previously employed by Lincolnshire County Council in various roles including Safeguarding & Review and Early Years. She was also a Childminding Development Officer and self-employed as a Registered Childminder.

Lynda has served as a governor for over 30 years, initially at Sir Francis Hill CP School and then as her children progressed to senior school at Ancaster High School (now Priory Witham). She is currently a governor at both Priory Lincoln and Priory Witham where she is keen to ensure all students achieve their full potential in a safe, stimulating and happy environment.

Scott Bainbridge
Scott is an Operations Manager for a large retail chain. Over the last twenty years Scott has worked at many different levels within this company.  Such a breadth of experience is invaluable on the LGB. He was born and raised in Middlesbrough, but moved to Lincoln in 1996. Currently, Scott is an active member of a number of committees and has differing roles within each. He is the Health and Safety Executive Community Member for 28^th Lincoln Scouts, Chair of the committee for Lincoln Navigators and parent member of Hykeham Tigers Football Club Committee. He is married with two children who both have been students at Priory Lincoln.

Julie Woodward

Julie joined Lincoln Academy (originally The City School) in 1979, and has served the school & its community for over 40 years.

A Physical Education teacher for over 35 years, Julie also had various roles during her career: 2nd in PE Department, Head of Year 7, Primary Liaison for 20 years and Director of House. She was Vice Chair and then Chair of the Friends Committee (Parent/ Staff group) helping to organise fundraising events for the school and many charities over the years. 

After stepping down from teaching in 2016, Julie joined the Lincoln Governing Body and also became a student mentor until her well - deserved retirement in July 2024.

Lisa Hodgson

I am a mum of two boys and have three grandchildren. I retired last year from working at the Priory Lincoln Academy for 27 years in many different support staff roles. I undertook the role of Headteacher's PA for a number of years before becoming the Academy’s Business Manager.  I totally enjoyed my time at the Academy.

I spend my time now retired with my grandchildren and my mother who all keep me very busy.  Whilst working at Priory Lincoln,  I undertook the role of staff governor and when I retired I asked if I could remain on the Governing Body.
